A Surprise for many friends
Announcement of the wedding of Miss Edna Snyder of East Lenox
and Major Conrad of Scranton
East Lenox, June 20 (1908)
A most delightful report is now current announcing the recent marriage of
Miss Edna Snyder and Major EHF Conrad of Scranton. Though happy event has
been known to her relatives and close friends it has not spread into her
wider circle of friends and acquaintances, because of the natural reserve
of Miss Snyder to keep her communications with young Cupid to herself.
Miss Snyder is well known among her many friends as an active and happy
dispositioned young girl, and one who possesses an attractive and charming
personality. She has always been delighted in innocent, yet dignified
pleasures and this quality will have a tendency to moderate the military
disposition and training of Major Conrad, unless he is more strenuous than
Admiral Dewey on a similar adventure.
Mr Conrad is a resident of Scranton where he has been for several years an
officer in the state militia. Last year he was elected from captain of the
13th Regiment to Major of the 13th regiment, NGP. Besides his military
position, Mr. Conrad is a stockholder in the Scranton furniture and carpet
store -- one of the largest stores on Lackawanna Avenue where he is doing a
most prosperous business.
Certainly, their many friends wish them the greatest possible pleasure and
happiness in their new associations and extend to them most hearty
congratulations for the future.
