Why devote time to genealogy

  Both of my parents had roots in NE PA, mostly Bradford County. I was motivated to pursue the families history by the intense regret I realized after all of the possible sources, parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles had passed on. How easy it would have been had I started earlier to gather facts now unavailable! I vowed that I would leave to my children and grandchildren what I failed to gather when I could even though at the present time none of them have much interest. But I expect some of them will develop and interest later in life and will appreciate my work.
  Additionally, I have had the thrill of contact with distant cousins all over the country whom I previously did not know existed.
